BRIGHTON & SUSSEX CEILIDH BAND
Although we still spend a lot of time in London, many of our musicians are now based in Brighton and Sussex and we’re playing more frequently at venues a bit closer to home.
Sussex is such a popular county for weddings, probably due to the beautiful countryside and fabulous wedding venues in this area – and what better way to celebrate than with a cracking Sussex Ceilidh Band encouraging a great night of dancing!
Whatever the event, a corporate or charity function at the Amex Stadium, birthday or private party on Brighton Pier or Student night at Sussex or Brighton University – Licence to Ceilidh’s universal appeal make us the perfect party band!
Specialising in Scottish ceilidh, our unique combination of modern funky rhythm with traditional tunes and dances has made us quite a name in Sussex.
What Is A Ceilidh?
The modern meaning of Ceilidh, Ceili, Barn Dance or Highland Fling is simply an evening of fun, guided dancing to a live band with experienced caller talking you through all the moves! Which is exactly what you get with Licence to Ceilidh.
We specialise in Scottish Ceilidh, but regularly transform into an Irish Ceili band or English Barn dance band and have even been known to perform Reeling Balls!
“Hi Ali, We just wanted to drop you a quick line to say thank you SO much for making our wedding reception so brilliant! You guys were fantastic and everyone loved the ceilidh. It was great to see so many people dancing together who had never met before and to see so many of our friends who avoid a dance floor enjoying themselves. I hope you enjoyed the rest of your time in Gozo. Wishing you well with all your endeavours.”
