Your Wedding Ceilidh

Ceilidh Wedding Band London

A Ceilidh is the perfect entertainment at a wedding as it brings everyone together, whether young or old or in possession of two left feet! It keeps all the action of your evening on the dancefloor so all your guests have the same shared experience to talk about for years to come.

Whether your guests are beginners, seasoned dancers or it’s a mixed crowd – our wedding ceilidh’s are geared up to be inclusive for all! We’ve handpicked the best dances to create a set-list full of classic dances anyone with experience will know and love, but that are fun & simple enough to teach to those with none!

Licence to Ceilidh have 15 years worth of experience playing at Weddings and know exactly how to make your special day run smoothly.

We’ll find a convenient time in your day to set-up our equipment, usually during the turn-around after dinner when your venue staff are moving or clearing tables and your guests are freshening up before the evening entertainment.

We can make music and dance suggestions for every part of your day – from Ceremony to Reception to Post Ceilidh Disco!

“Hi Ali, We just wanted to drop you a quick line to say thank you SO much for making our wedding reception so brilliant! You guys were fantastic and everyone loved the ceilidh. It was great to see so many people dancing together who had never met before and to see so many of our friends who avoid a dance floor enjoying themselves. I hope you enjoyed the rest of your time in Gozo. Wishing you well with all your endeavours. Best wishes, Mia and Nick”

YOUR CEREMONY

The most popular option for music during the ceremony is our Classical Quartet, who can play a wide selection of classical pieces as well as some arrangements of more modern music.

For a more celtic touch, our fiddle & guitar duo is also very popular for wedding ceremonies. Or some choose to go for a solo Flautist who can play either classical or celtic music.

With all options we can liaise with you in advance and send suggestions for pieces of music that work well for the entrance of the bride, signing the register and the exit of bride & groom and guests.

see our Additional Services page for the full list of music options we can provide throughout your day

YOUR DRINKS RECEPTION

If you’ve booked entertainment for your ceremony they can continue to play for your drinks reception afterwards – or our Jazz trio’s and quartets are very popular for background music during this time.

It’s great to have some high quality live music while you’re drinking pimms on the lawn or champagne in the foyer and again we can make some suggestions for music choices that will work well.

WEDDING BREAKFAST

Add a final touch by booking some music to listen to during your wedding breakfast, the most popular option for this part of the day is our dinner pianist, who can play a mixture of jazz and more popular music.

You can also arrange for us to be set-up earlier in the day or provide a small speaker with wireless microphone for your speeches.

They played at my gay wedding. Brilliant gender neutral calling, excellent explanations and so some of the best dancing I’ve seen at a ceilidh. The music was superb and loved the improvised pop music.

YOUR First Dance

We can help you decide on a first dance: we can play you a choice of Ceilidh dances that work well for the occasion or perform a traditional waltz for you to dance to. Alternatively, if you have something prepared to a specific song we’ll happily play it for you from our PA.

You can also bring along a playlist of music for us to put on during the break and once we are set up, or we’ll bring along a celtic playlist of our own – free of charge.

…and don’t forget the final dance! If you want to top off the night with the ultimate Scottish send off why not ask us to finish with an Auld Lang Syne.

Thanks for making our wedding even more special and memorable…” – Laura & Rob, South Farm
