Are you looking for a band for your wedding abroad?
Licence to Ceilidh are now experienced destination wedding suppliers! We’ve performed as a band in Malta *3 times, Portugal, Italy, France *twice, Jersey and Dubai – we were just in Italy, France and Malta only last summer!
Although ceilidh’s are more and more popular with couples just wanting something fun, different and inclusive at their evening reception it works particularly well for anyone with a bit of celtic blood to have a taste of Scotland or Ireland in your chosen destination! It’s always a real meeting of cultures and it works great. But it’s suitable for all!
There’s nothing like having a jig about outside on a hot summers evening and it will be something many of your guests wont have experienced before. What we do is all geared up for beginners and we’re use to working with an International crowd.
We always offer good discounts for bookings abroad and also a range of band size options to suit your needs and budget! Obviously the less musicians in the bands the less travel and accomodation costs too so it really helps.
The weddings we’ve played at have all been very different: We were a 6-piece band with 2 fiddle player for a wedding Portugal, a 5-piece doing a St Patricks Day event in Dubai, a 4-piece for a week long residency in Malta and we’ve provided both 3-piece and 4-piece bands for lovely open air weddings in Malta. 4-piece bands in France and a 3-piece ceilidh and acoustic covers band in Italy.
A lot of people worry about the stress of the additional organisational aspects with booking a band to play abroad, but we help with booking flights and have a simple technical specification you can pass straight on to a hire company to get the PA speakers! We normally ask for your recommendation regarding accomodation though as you probably have a few ideas from having booked for yourselves and guests… But with us it’s just as easy as booking a band in the UK.
And, there’s nothing like a little sunshine to put your guests (and band) in a good mood!! It’s always been such good atmosphere on the dance floor and everyone gets up and gets involved – your guests are a lot more relaxed abroad and a lot of people have a “i’ll try anything on holiday” attitude which works great for getting them to join in with the ceilidh!!
So if you’re thinking of hosting your special day abroad, whenever it may be don’t hesitate to get in touch! It may be cheaper than you think!
